N2 Trade equivalence knowledge test (ESETA)

P and T Technology (Pty) Ltd Electrical Competency Training Institute is an accredited provider with the Energy SETA and the CHIETA.

The training and development centre at the 141 Lamp Road, Wadeville, Germiston offers an N2 equivalent exam as determined by the ESETA for Section 28 (Electrician Construction) candidates as required to partake in the Electrician (construction) trade test.

This test is developed to accommodate electricians that fall under section 28, the opportunity to attempt the National Trade Test without a N2 National Certificate. The N2 equivalent test is not recognized as a national exam but merely the opportunity to partake in the ESETA trade test.

The Knowledge test will include but is not limited to the following :

Apply and maintain safety in an electrical environment
Understand fundamentals of electricity
Understand basic electrical and mechanical engineering principles
Apply the principles of energy efficiency
Select, use and care for marking off/out equipment: routing shapes
Installing wireways
Carry out basic arc and gas welding, brazing and cutting in an electrical environment
Select, use and care for electrical measuring instruments
Demonstrate understanding of rational and irrational numbers and number systems
Measure, estimate and calculate physical quantities
Understand basic electronic theory and components
Understanding of basic PLC’s
Design and construct single and three phase circuit
