Trade test evaluation (ESETA)

P and T Technology (Pty) Ltd Electrical Competency Training Institute is an accredited provider with the Energy SETA.

The training and development centre at the 141 Lamp Road, Wadeville, Germiston, offers a Section 28 (Electrician Construction) trade test evaluation in order to identify gaps in skills and/or knowledge against the trade electrician construction.

Our trade test evaluation assessment will provide information about knowledge and skills gaps as required in order to partake in the National trade test electrician construction. It is our experience that although candidates have could show sufficient knowledge of the required activities and expectations at Trade Test, they are unsuccessful in the trade test as tasks in the trade test need to be completed in a specific time.

Note: - Our assessment program is developed in such a way as to identify skills and knowledge required for the trade test and this is not a training intervention.

We guarantee complete support to all candidates thus bringing out the best in every person..

The practical assessment program will include but is not limited to the following:

Installing/bending of wireways (Conduit, trunking and cable tray)
Cable glanding (Armoured cable/NORSK)
Wiring single and three phase distribution boards
Installation inspection and testing
Connecting of single phase starters (Contactors/rotary switch)
Single and three phase motor testing
Connecting of three phase starters (Star/delta sequence, Forward/Reverse)
The program allows for practice of skills to ensure competence.

Target audience

Electricians working in Domestic installations.
Maintenance electricians in commercial and industrial installations.
Electricians wanting to upgrade their knowledge on motors and starters.
Electricians requiring assessment at Trade Test for ESETA qualification.

Pre-requisites

Not less than 5 years relevant experience in the electrical industry.
Must meet relevant ESETA criteria in order to do the trade test
N2 or equivalent

Assessment duration: 3 days

This is not a trade test and does not guarantee access to the trade test, we will assess your skills and knowledge as required for the trade electrician construction only.
